Central Bank interventions in the financial market many times, at the cost of taxpayer money. There have been many situations where these efforts have not yielded the desired results. A recent example is when the Russian Central Bank attempted to regulate the fall of the Ruble but failed, resulting in an overall loss of $30 Billion.
