This week's question will focus on the article, "How to Chose a Leadership Pattern."

This week’s question will focus on the article, “How to Chose a Leadership Pattern.” Imagine yourself as a new police chief in a mid-sized agency of approximately 400 officers. As the new chief, you take the first six months to learn about the culture of your agency. At the end of the six months, you decide to make changes that will impact both operations (patrol/investigations) and administration (policy/procedure). Looking at the range of possible leadership behaviors, please answer the following questions:

What leadership behavior would you use to implement change?

Under what circumstance would you use that particular behavior?

Would you use the same strategy for each change, or would your strategies differ?

Remember, everyone is watching you. How you implement change will determine if they perceive you as weak, or effective.

Also, support your comments with AT MINIMUM TWO external resources and do not forget to cite them. Reading material assigned for this week DOES NOT count as research.
