Getting probation instead of a conviction is arguably a good deal for most people in violation of a law, however the article below suggests that even the probation system is severely flawed. Read the article and tell me your thoughts, reactions, etc. As the article says, "Ms. Hall's case is an extreme one" so don't dwell on the specific facts of this case, rather compare this story to your readings this week - how does this story differ from what the text says are the benefits of the probation system?
