In "The Death Penalty is Too Costly for Society," the author Dieter (2015), argues that the death penalty is an important process for the defendants to go through but the cost of the penalty was very high, and it increase rapidly. As indicated by Stearns (2016), we as a nation must follow the laws stated in the United States. The death penalty has been employee in the United States throughout history, and as of today, we accept it. The Supreme Court has demonstrated that death penalty does not violate the 8th amendment as cruel and unusual punishment. Also, the 8th amendment does not mention the procedure of how the jury may use the death penalty and how it must be carried out. It is only shown by the 14th amendment due process clause. The author asserts death penalty is wrong about three things, death penalty is not expensive, a trial is fair process without discretion, and death penalty is not a violation to the bill of rights .Death penalty also known as capital punishment is not an expensive technique to use for murder and other capital crimes.
