So, what is the future of juvenile justice? Luckily, as we have seen, most delinquents age out of crime. The population cycle of boom and bust has been in a "mini bust" the past few years, and there is an indication of at least a slight shrinkage in the at-risk age group in the future. There are some innovative programs coming from both the police and the corrections groups that show some signs of promise and we have seen a significant decline in juvenile offending since its height in the mid-90s.
