Application: Selecting a Topic

Application: Selecting a Topic

One of the biggest challenges you may encounter as an undergraduate student is incorporating all that you have learned throughout your concentration into a single culminating project. The Capstone Project for this course requires you to integrate and apply the concepts of human rights, rule of law, or international justice with/to your area of concentration. These concepts are related to criminal justice and are underlying factors of social change. Completing the Capstone Project is a critical milestone in your academic journey. Selecting your topic is a necessary first step to developing a solid Capstone Project, which you will develop over the coming weeks. You should select a topic that is valid and relevant to human rights, rule of law or international justice.

To prepare for this assignment:

  • Search the Internet, research databases, and other reliable sources to gather information about potential Capstone Project topics related to human rights, rule of law, or international justice.
  • Select a topic for your Capstone Project.
  • Think about why the topic is relevant to human rights, rule of law, or international justice.
  • Consider why you want to research the topic further and why it is important to you.
