Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that presents a topic for qualitative research. The purpose of this assignment is to give students the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned about qualitative research in the first 2 weeks by applying the concepts to an actual research topic.

  • Explain why this topic would be best approached from a qualitative perspective. This goes back to the Week 1 assignment that focused on reasons for using qualitative research.
  • Identify the research problem and explain which design would be most appropriate for that problem. This goes back to Week 2 assignment that differentiated between the designs and when they are appropriate.
  • Discuss why other qualitative approaches would not be appropriate, and present your rationale for your approach. Explain thoroughly why the qualitative method and the design you have chosen are correct given the topic and problem. How do they align?

Note: This topic must be different than the topic chosen for the précis or Prospectus that you developed in DOC/720R. The purpose of this assignment is to apply your learning about qualitative research to a different topic in order to understand the applicability of qualitative research to various topics.

Use at least three peer-reviewed, non-classroom textbook or article references.
