FS 5223 Unit 2 Discussion Board 1

To earn full points, you must complete both parts as instructed.

PART ONE:

Make an initial discussion board post on one of the following:

(a) Post a minimum of 2 discussion questions over the assigned/supplemental readings and attempt to answer them (~1 paragraph response per question, 1-1.5 pages on average). For each question, please note the reading to which it pertains with the correct APA citation.

OR

(b) Locate and share a PDF of an empirical article (NO literature reviews or book chapters; it must be original research) related to the assigned readings. Provide a brief overview and critique (strengths/weaknesses) of the article, pose a minimum of two discussion questions about the article, and conclude with the correct APA citation for the article (1-1.5 pages on average).

It is expected that students will make their initial post no later than Thursday at 11:59pm.

PART TWO:

Respond meaningfully to at least two classmates' posts (whether it be classmates' original posts or classmates' response posts to you or others, etc.). The length of part two, in total, should be roughly equivalent to the suggested length for part one.

NOTE: Discussion questions should not be "fact seeking" but rather should inspire higher-order critical thinking about the topics and should lend themselves to in-depth discussions. Credit will not be given for questions that are too vague, that could be made without having read the materials, or that do not inspire extended discussion (e.g., could be sufficiently answered in one or two sentences).
