As an aspiring school leader, developing the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with diverse school and community stakeholders to improve student learning is important to building your leadership capacity. You will address the School/Family/Community (SFC) Partnership Evaluation assignment across the five weeks of this course. In week 1 you will collaborate with your mentor to plan how you will implement this assignment, which is a key assessment in EDLD 5339.
During week 1, you will schedule a time to meet with your campus mentor to provide an explanation of the course requirement to facilitate the School/Family/Community (SFC) Partnership Evaluation. You will provide the SFC Partnership Evaluation form for your mentor’s review. You will ask your mentor to advise you on communicating with the school counselor(s) and teacher(s) from each grade level or department. Further, you will ask your mentor to provide the names of parents, community members and business representatives who would be willing to participate in the SFC Evaluation process as well as suggestions for the best way to communicate with these individuals. Additionally, you will need to work with your mentor to identify the location, date and time for the meeting to be held in week 2 of this course. After your meeting with your mentor, you need to immediately communicate with your SFC Partnership Evaluation stakeholders. Since you will need to meet with your stakeholders during week 2, it is important to communicate with your campus mentor as soon as possible.
Reflection Directions:
In your reflection, communicated in a minimum of two paragraphs, you will discuss the process and results of your initial meeting with your campus mentor. Address the following elements in your reflection:
