IT 402 Week 1 Discussion

IT 402 Week 1 Discussion

Risky Business

Project Risks (Practice)

The textbook reading Assignment includes (in Chapter 2) an explanation of risk management. Both internal and external influences can affect four areas: financial, strategic, operational, and hazard risks. Provide the following in your initial post:

·         Briefly describe a project* in which you were either the manager or a participant, explaining the project's goals and your role.

·         Then identify one external risk and one internal risk this project encountered or could have encountered.

·         Identify to which main area each risk belongs, and how you handled each situation or could have handled these risks.

·         Explain any ethical implications included in mitigating the risks.

*This does not have to be an IT-based project.

Subject line instruction: Write a descriptive subject line for your initial post in this Discussion. Do not label it with your name, the unit number, or the unit name; it should be unique and identify the content.

In your responses to others, you may focus on the projects themselves or the risks.
