Project Proposal evaluation (Research)

Your initial post for this Discussion Board requires online research and the choice of one suitable source. First, make sure you have read the Reading Resource document and reviewed the assigned textbook reading.

Many completed project proposals for real-life events are available online. Perform an online search to find a proposal for a real project. While it would be good to find a proposal relating to technology issues, it is acceptable to choose one for a non-IT project. Please note: you are looking for a proposal, not just information about a project. The idea is to see how projects are proposed to clients.

Search suggestions: (1) Put search terms in quotes, such as "technology proposal" or "database proposal." (2) Many of these proposals will be in Word or PDF format. Consider adding one of these to your search terms: filetype:pdf filetype:doc filetype:docx

A sample search might then look like this: "database proposal" filetype:pdf

For the initial post:

·         In your first paragraph, briefly describe the project and the document. Do not quote from the proposal or copy lists; write in your own words. End the first paragraph with a proper APA in-text citation.

·         In your second paragraph, provide a constructive evaluation of the document (not the project itself). Does it seem effective in delivering pertinent information, and why or why not? What suggestions would you give the writer of the document for improvement?

·         At the end of the post, provide full APA reference entry.

Subject line instruction: Write a descriptive subject line for your initial post in this Discussion. Do not label it with your name, the unit number, or the unit name; it should be unique and identify the content.

In your responses to others, you might provide additional reasons why the proposal was effective or not, or compare the findings to projects in which you have participated.
