Purpose 

You as the Systems Analyst have practiced analyzing business cases and now have to produce documentation that may lead to a viable project. In this assignment, you will practice research, organization, persuasion, and professional documentation. You will also review what you learned last week about types of information systems so you can make an appropriate decision about what is the most appropriate solution for your new client. 

This assignment is considered a "Business Case." A template is provided for you and its use is required. You may need to search online for an appropriate ROI formula or ask your instructor for clarification. Additional research is not required except for locating hardware and software prices; Full URLs are sufficient.

Assignment Instructions and Requirements 

Scenario:  Fair Bud Flowers is a local company with only two small stores. Each store works inventory, sales, and costs on its own. They have no internet connection but each store has two computers with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office. Sales receipts are hand-written on old-fashioned paper forms with carbon copy, and the data is entered later into an Excel file on one of the computers in each store every night. At the end of every night, the Excel file is copied onto a flash drive and transferred to the second store computer as backup. Of course, this also presents a security risk. They need a real database, updated operating systems, and interconnectivity between computers in each store and between the stores.

Currently, the hourly labor cost for employees to handwrite documents and later input and transfer between computers is $14, and it takes approximately 7 hours per week more than this documentation would take if there was a proper computer system. The stores are open 52 weeks a year.

·         Management Information Systems (MIS)

·         Transaction Processing Systems (TPS)

·         Paragraph 3: Identify which solution you prefer and explain why it is best. 

Cost-Benefit Analysis (for your preferred solution)

·         Provide one-time purchase costs (hardware and/or software), including quantity, brands, and dollar amounts.

·         Provide ongoing costs (services), including vendor and dollar amount per month or year.

·         Include the direct URL for any cost listed.

·         Paragraph: Explain your ROI findings in paragraph form. 

Project Overview

·         This part of the assignment must be at least 150 words in length.

·         Paragraph 1: Briefly state the project goals and how it helps to meet the company's mission.

·         Paragraph 2: Explain how project success will be measured (this must be more than simply stating the project is complete).

·         Paragraph 3: Provide a general timeline for the project, including estimated overall time and at least three milestones.

·         Paragraph: Write a final paragraph of at least 60 words that is meant to convince the client that your solution is in his/her best interests
