Additional skills every educator should possess include understanding student behavior and the various parts of the brain and their functions and how they work together to help us think, learn, grow, and feel.

For this assignment, you will conduct research on the parts of the brain that are responsible for learning and behavior. You will need 2-3 sources to complete the assignment below.

Write a 2-3 page paper in which you:

1. Discuss the function of the part of the brain that is responsible for learning. In your discussion make sure to include:
   • The name for this part of the brain.
   • Where it is in the brain's composition.
   • Explain how this part of the brain is responsible for learning.
2. Discuss the function of the portion of the brain that controls behavior. In your discussion make sure to include:
   • The name for this part of the brain.
   • Where it is located in the brain's composition.
   • Explain how this portion of the brain controls behavior.
3. Discuss how understanding parts of the brain responsible for learning and behavior might impact your approach as an educator.
   • Explain how this knowledge might impact your lesson planning as a teacher.
   • Explain how this knowledge might help you establish meaningful relationships with students and parents.

Use 2-3 sources to support your writing, outside of your textbook. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review the library guides.
