Imagine your team has been asked to present to a high school psychology class on how behavioral principles are used in different settings.

 

Choose one setting in which to apply principles of behavior. Settings include schools, hospitals, prisons, and businesses.

 

Evaluate the use of various types of reinforcements and punishments in your chosen setting.

 

Create a 15- to 18-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation to show to the high school psychology class. Ensure you:

• Provide a brief overview of the setting you have chosen.
• Describe how reinforcement is used in this setting. Give specific examples of both positive and negative reinforcements that may be used in the setting you've chosen.
• Describe how punishment is used in this setting, including the role of extinction. Give specific examples of both positive and negative punishments that may be used in the setting you've chosen.
• Include the effectiveness of methods used in modifying behavior.
• Propose ideas for making the use of reinforcement and punishment in this setting more effective.

 

Include detailed speaker notes to outline what you would say in your presentation.

 

Cite at least 2 to 4 peer-reviewed, scholarly, or similar references, in addition to the textbook, to support your assignment.

 

Format any citations in your presentation according to APA guidelines.
