In this process, they are expected to participate in the weekly discussions andfind the answers to the recommended discussion questions.Discussion questions have been selectedand formulated not only to gradually increase the knowledge and skills of the students in this coursebut also to help them develop the logical network design.The students who do not attempt weeklydiscussion questions would very likely produce a logical network design that would not satisfy therequirements and/or that cannot be justified.Part AObjectivesIn this part of Assessment Item 1, you will create and deliver an oral presentation on your logicalnetwork design. The scenario to be used for the logical network design is given in page 5. Please referto the course profile to understand how this part of the assessment item relates to the course learningoutcomes.RequirementsAll studentsYou are to demonstrate your technical as well as presentation skills by presenting your logicalnetwork design, and receive feedback from your peers and/or the tutor.On-Campus studentsOn-campus students should deliver their presentations during the class time. Students will be requiredto work in groups of up to four or individually. The maximum duration for each presentation groupwill be 15 minutes, including 5 minutes to answer the questions and for discussion. This time framewill be strictly enforced due to time constraints.Please note that the presentations mustbe completed on the scheduled day. If a student or a groupdoes not present on the scheduled day, they will receive 0 marks for Part A unless they have a validreason supported by evidence such as a doctor’s certificate.1 |6

Distance studentsDistance students should contact the course coordinatorby the end of week 3and agree for a suitablepresentation method and time. The presentations could also be recorded by the student (or the group)and uploaded to Moodle. The answering of questions and the discussion could then be undertaken viatelephone at a mutually agreed time. Students will have to complete their presentations betweenweeks 6 and 8 of the term.Assessment criteriaThe marking criteria for Part A of the Assessment Item 1are provided on page 3.Students need to familiarise themselves with the marking criteria to ensure that they have addressedthem when preparing and presenting this assessment item.Note:1. Each student in the group needs to upload a copy of their presentation to Moodle beforedelivering the presentation. Failure to do so will result in a mark of 0/20 for the student.2.
