Week 1 Discussion 2: Differences (First Post by Day 3, Second Post by Day 5). You are required to start a new thread and post a comment before you will be able to see your classmates' posts.
Value: 10 points
Discussion Question
A common assumption is that the same management principles apply to both large and small business, the latter just on a smaller scale. Underlying this expectation is that the only difference between a big business and small business is that the latter has less revenue, fewer assets, and fewer employees. Based on your own experiences, does this seem reasonable? If not, what in your experience tells you otherwise?
Submission Instructions
1.     Post your answer to the discussion thread by end of Day 3.
2.     Respond to at least two of your classmates' posts to promote active discussion by end of Day 5.
ENTR 6210 Week 1 Discussion 3
Week 1 Discussion 3: Churchill and Lewis (First Post by Day 4, Second Post by Day 6). You are required to start a new thread and post a comment before you will be able to see your classmates' posts.
Value: 10 points
Discussion Question
Just because Churchill and Lewis say there are five stages of business growth, that doesn't mean there are. Maybe there are more, maybe fewer. Maybe there are more important milestones that could be the focus of small business growth. Based on the article, your own experience and observations, what, if anything, would you add or remove from their framework? (And, need I add, why?)
Submission Instructions
1.     Post your answer to the discussion thread by end of Day 4.
2.     Respond to at least two of your classmates' posts to promote active discussion by end of Day 6.
ENTR 6210 Week 1 Discussion 4
Week 1 Discussion 4: The Next Stage (First Post by Day 5, Second Post by Day 6). You are required to start a new thread and post a comment before you will be able to see your classmates' posts.
Value: 10 points
Discussion Question
You are asked to assume management of a young business that you quickly see is in the survival stage. Based on the reading, what business and management factors would be critical to taking the business to the next stage? What factors that may have helped get the business to its current stage might actually get in the way of growth to the next stage?
Submission Instructions
1.     Post your answer to the discussion thread by end of Day 5.
2.     Respond to at least two of your classmates' posts to promote active discussion by end of Day 6.
