Unit 4 Animal Diversity Portfolio
Directions: Choose ONE animal that you would like to learn more about. This animal can be an invertebrate,
chordate or a primate. The purpose of this assignment is to research the adaptations of the animal that make
them successful in their environment. Use the internet or your text book to help you with your research.
During your research, you need to find information about the essential functions your animal must perform to
survive in the following areas:

Obtaining and distributing oxygen and nutrients
Collecting and eliminating waste
Reproducing You also need to include a picture of your animal in your presentation.
Finally, you will explain how the animal you chose fits into a cladogram from your textbook. Explain what
phylum the animal belongs to and why it was classified that way.
