aking transmembrane domains, ERSS signals, SRP, and start/stop sequences into consideration, if a protein being translated has NO ERSS signal, but has a stop transfer sequence will the SRP bind the stop transfer sequence and initiate translocation into the ER membrane?
I basically want to know whether a STOP transfer sequences bind SRP. I know START transfer sequences do, but I don't know if a STOP does.
Taking example 2 into consideration:
Â
N ---- STOP ----- START ----- STOP ----- C
Â
will this have two, three or zero transmembrane domains?
