Genesis 2:7

Question:Throughout scripture the concept of breath represents life.  

Genesis 2:7

Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being

Do some scientific and biblical research and discuss why breath is necessary for life. Reflect on the above scripture. What is meant by "God breather into his nostrils"?  How should this scripture be read? Literally? Metaphorically? Is it just imagery?
