Timeliness of processing claims is another serious issue. Delays in processing can of course cause cash flow problems for the organization, but also add even more confusion and opportunity for error in a system that is already complex and confusing. What would it take to decrease claims processing time - significantly and realistically? This is not a problem that can be solved by just throwing more labor into it - personnel costs are already a large factor in administrative overhead. How could we do it smarter? in medical coding and billing
