The resolving power of a microscope is governed by Abbeâs Law :
Where d = resolving power,
 n = refractive index, q = ½ angular aperture
λ = wavelength of the light.
n sin q = the numerical aperture (N.A.) of the lenses.
Record the N.A. of your microscope lenses (written on the objectives!) in the table below. Using these values and assuming the wavelength of light passing through your microscope is 530 nm, calculate the resolving power of each of the lenses.
