straight shoreline. A car is driving at a constant speed of 1.5 kilometers per minute along a highway that extends along the shoreline, and the person on the island observes the car with a pair of binoculars.

 

(a) How fast is the distance between the island observer and the car changing when the car and the observer are 1 km apart?

(b) How fast must the observer rotate his head to keep the car in sight at the moment when he and the car are 1 km apart?
