You will write your first project short research papers on leadership, exploring the lives of ALL assigned leaders and discussing how you may apply the lessons personally. The first paper/project will be written about what you have learned from researching the leadership styles of James Burke, Oprah Winfrey, Ursula Burns and is due during Weeks 2-3. You will write about ways that you have or can apply 3 lessons from each leader chosen (3 lessons from each leader chosen for a total of 6 lessons learned and how you can apply).

•  Research Project Description of Expectations:

•  Purpose: To explore two famous peoples’ leadership styles with regard to their specific situations and outcomes and show application to YOUR LIFE. (Read about each leader and choose 2 of them that have lessons you can apply to your life.)

•  Read/Research information on the leaders’ backgrounds including hometown, family influences, education and career. Be sure to give other author's credit for material that you reference by citing any paraphrased or quoted material "in text."

•  Write/Generate a reference page using APA style of the sources that you researched. Wikipedia is not your best reference.

THEN,based on your research, write a two to four page ESSAY on 3 LEADERSHIP LESSONS that YOU have learned from EACH leader based on your reading (total of 6 lessons learned). Relate the leadership lessons to YOUR LIFE and how you have applied or may apply them in the future.

Please write a 2-4 page essay with a well written introduction, three main lessons that you learned from EACH leader with examples, supportive evidence and a conclusion. You may compare/contrast leadership styles and actions. I am interested in what you have learned as a result of your reading/watching videos and research. You do not have to cover the leaders’ histories. As mentioned above, the bulk of your paper should show how you can personally apply the learning to your life experiences. How can you use this learning in your leadership situation?
