public safety

Should some professions, particularly those involving public safety, have less medical privacy than others?  

More specifically, should airline pilots, bus drivers, and those employed in similar occupations have less privacy from medical professionals? 

 

For example, should the physician treating the German pilot with a psychiatric illness who led to the crash and death of 150 passengers have disclosed the illness to the airline employer? If so, what about the potential violation and ethical impact on all of the other pilots and those in positions of public safety?
