Due by Day 7. For this 5-7 page self-assessment paper you will reflect on what you have learned in this course about yourself as a future counselor. Respond to the following:

  1. Describe the type(s) of clients with whom you see yourself working most effectively, and the treatment approaches with which you see yourself practicing most effectively. Explain why.
  2.  I want to work with trouble-young teenage girls and try to guide them in the right direction of life because I use to be a young troubled teenage girl myself. I met a social worker when I was a troubled teenager and she made an impression on my life and now I want to give back to these young girls and try to save them from the dangers of life. Because our "Youth" is "OUR---FUTURE"!!
  1. Discuss your consideration of multicultural, ethical, competency, personal strengths, and professional responsibility issues in your evaluation.

I have traveled all around the world (Paris--Germany--Holland---Spain--Canada---Mexico---Bahamas----Puerto Rico---ect...) with my ex-husband & Father being in the military so I have no problem with the multicultural environment. I traveling life experience is my personal strength. Not sure about the rest of the question, smile. 

  • How do you see these issues influencing your assessments, formulations, and decisions regarding appropriate and effective clinical actions with clients in the future?
  1. I do not think that I would be biased in any situation. I am from NYC and many family members are drug dealers and addicts. I have had many friends and clients who have HIV and my own son is gay and I have traveled around the world and have many friends and relatives of different cultures. Plus, I married outside of my race.
  1. Explain the importance of your own ongoing personal and professional development to an effective future practice with clients. Discuss the areas you want to develop most and describe short-term and long-term actions you will take to reach your development goals.

I need to develop on me crossing boundaries. I am developing professionally by taking these college courses including this class

  1. Provide at least three scholarly references, not including assigned course readings, to support or otherwise provide perspective on your opinions and evaluation.
