Choose one of the Ten Commandments

Choose one of the Ten Commandments (read Exodus 20:1-21 and Deuteronomy 5:1-22). Spend some time researching about the commandment you selected. You can search the internet for information about your commandment, review a biblical commentary or find another resource that deals with the Ten Commandments. After your research, describe the significance of the commandment for the Hebrew religious community, the community to which it was originally given. Then, imagine that you are trying to explain the meaning of the commandment to a young child today. Describe what you would tell the young child to help him/her understand the meaning of the commandment. You are encouraged to provide practical illustrations of the significance of the commandment as a part of your explanation. Your essay should be at least two double-spaced pages.
