Supreme Court

1. Take one of the sections of this Supreme Court transcript and use a narrative to convey the Justices' meaning, while still retaining the factual accuracy of the Justices' decisions.

  Be sure to include the following in your answer:

  • an excerpt from the text
  • a narrative that advances the thesis of the Justices
  • a conclusion that justifies the ruling

   

2. On two separate occasions Mr. K. is denied a handshake by two different characters. When does this happen in the story/with which characters? How do you think this makes Mr. K. feel?

3. What perspective is The Trial told from? How do we know this? How would the story change if it was told from another character’s perspective (i.e. the arresting officers or the supervisor)? What new information do you think we’d learn or what information would be left out?
