Just need help with the last question on my homework.
Â
A solution contains both Ca+2Â and Ba+2Â ,each present at a concentration of 0.0100 M. We wish to remove the calcium ion from solution, while leaving the Barium ions essentially untouched (still dissolved), by adding solid NaF. What concentration of F-Â is necessary for CaF2Â but not BaF2Â to precipitate ? What concentration of calcium ion will be left in solution when the barium ion just begins to precipitate if more fluoride is added ?
Â
Ksp for CaF2 = 1.70 x 10-10                 Ksp for BaF2 = 1.73 x 10-6
