The Old Testament Historical Books tell the story of the people of God from the occupation of the land of Canaan, through the rise and fall of the North and Southern kingdoms and the exile of the people of God from the Promised Land, to the return to Jerusalem. Choose one of the Historical Books that is not required for your reading log (choose Judges, Ruth, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah or Esther) and read it in its entirety. In 1 double-spaced pages: 1) Write a brief summary of the period in the history of Israel. Â 2) Discuss how you see God actively involved in history through the events described in the text and how this relates to the on-going involvement of God in shaping the story of His people today.
