In the first four weeks of the program we have considered several
psychological theories which have the potential to inform the history
of consumption culture. In this case assignment, you will have the
opportunity to explore your favorite theory as it applies to the history
of consumption culture.
In a 5-8 page paper (excluding title page and reference sheet), please
address the following:
-Identify the psychological theory that you have selected for
exploration and provide a brief overview of the main tenets of the
theory.
-Discuss how it helps inform historical trends in consumption.
-Describe whether or not the theory is relevant to contemporary
society (if it isn't, explain why).
-Identify at least one way in which you can use the psychological
theory you have selected to research one aspect of contemporary
consumption practices.
