PRE-LABORATORY QUESTIONS
Using the table of standard reduction potentials found on page 6, determine the cell potential for the following combination of electrodes.
Calculate the potential, Eocell, for a Copper-Gold cell
1.   Students should indicate which metal is the cathode & anode E°cell = E°Au - E°Cu                  10 @ 0.3 pts
2.   Student need to show the assigned potential with their proper signs E°cell = 1.42 v -(0.34 v)     10 @ 0.6 pts
3    The value for Eocell = 1.08 v                   Answer                                                                            10 @ 0.1 pts
