Gender equality in employment and compensation focuses on benefits of offering minimum wages to all employees of an organization irrespective of their genders. The minimum wage offered should be one that is considered living wage for all the employees. In order to further achieve gender equality in a workplace, there should be absolute elimination of discrimination pertaining to gender differences so as to allow for employment of workers on fair grounds. This fairness can be reflected on comparable wages of employees, their working hours and their compensation. For example, the National Association for Female Executive (NAFE) did a survey between men and women in every field that has experience for 20 years. The National Association for Female Executive discover that women earned $85,375 compare to men earned $119,625 and that’s approximately 30% difference and throughout the years the percent has grown in different areas of job (Giapponi & McEvoy, 2006). Working conditions is the same for both gender and should have the same wage and benefits. Another study share the same results that men are paid higher than women, the median income for female worker was $34,135 when for male worker was $37,503 (Giapponi & McEvoy,2006). If a female has a better education, experience and training from a man both gender will receive the same money. Most of the females works in the lower paying jobs such as; day care, cosmetology and medical assistance where men work electrical work, plumbing, carpentry or normal jobs get paid the double than a female who work in the same lower jobs (Giapponi & McEvoy,2006). The author states clerical and administrative workers are filled with women who get paid $27,612 apart from men that get paid $29, 796 that’s 7% difference. Studies have proved that approximately 10 million women who are household struggle to pay for rent and utilities since they get paid average 76 cents than man (Giapponi & McEvoy, 2006). Some women accept to get paid low and receive less benefits because they must have a flexible schedule to take care of the family. Base on education and experience women tend to lose $700,000 and 2 million dollars in her entire life due to discrimination in the job and women live longer than men but elder women have trouble with financial since they suffer inequalities in their job (Schoen lectures, February 08, 2017). Gender equality discrimination on a job have increase throughout the years and has impacted many people.
