Companies for the fifth time. Whole Foods Market Is an ethical company for several reasons. The first reason, they sell
the highest quality natural and organic products, the second reason, they serve and support
their local and global communities, the third reason, they practice and advance environmental
stewardship. They appreciate the difference natural and organic products can make in the quality of
one's life. they have high standards and their goal is to sell the highest quality products they
possibly can. they define quality by evaluating the ingredients, freshness, safety, taste, nutritive
value and appearance of all of the products they carry. they are buying agents for their
customers and not the selling agents for the manufacturers. It is a given that each store donates food to area food banks and shelters. They know
how to get it to people who need it. Then, several times a year, Whole Foods stores hold
community-giving days where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local
nonprofit or educational organization. The groups that benefit from these “5% Days” are as
varied as the communities themselves. Whole Kids Foundation supports schools and inspires
families in developing-world communities to improve children’s nutrition and wellness. Through
partnerships with innovative organizations, schools, and educators they work to provide
children access to fresh, nutritious meals. They respect their environment and recycle, reuse, and reduce their waste wherever and
whenever they can. They seek to balance their needs with the needs of the rest of the planet
through the following actions : Supporting sustainable agriculture. They are committed to
greater production of organically and bio-dynamically grown foods in order to reduce pesticide
use and promote soil conservation. Reducing waste and consumption of non-renewable
resources. They promote and participate in recycling programs in their communities. They are
committed to re-usable packaging, reduced packaging, and water and energy conservation. Whole Foods Market's vision of a sustainable future means our children and
grandchildren will be living in a world that values human creativity, diversity, and individual
choice. At Whole Foods Market, they are starting to implement this new vision of the future by
changing the way we think about the relationships between our food supply, the environment,
and our bodies. References :
