In 2008 the prevalence of diabetes was estimated at 10%, of the global population (NOTE: this was the prevalence in people age 25+) and currently the prevalence of diabetes is already estimated to be 347 million cases globally. We are WAY ahead of schedule! As the number of diabetic patients will likely be increasing, so will the number of patients needing dialysis. What kind of an impact do you think this will have on our healthcare system (is there a projection on this impact)? Be sure to cite your sources.
