These types of hierarchal structures theoretically establish communication protocols that clearly define a path through which information is to be passed down through the organization. However, in some cases the established communication protocols may in fact impede the dissemination of accurate and timely information within the organization. Discuss the role of a chain of command in disseminating information through a criminal justice organization.
