Question description

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction .

post most have 4 or more sentences .

you also have to have a high quality post from a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or praise a class mate. If you agree with a classmate, explain why, give an example, share what you learned in the readings

Both the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and the Nursing PhD are considered to be terminal degrees, meaning they are the highest level of academic degrees obtainable in the nursing curriculum. While both areas of study require a broad body of nursing science knowledge, they do have different focuses. The PhD route of education requires that the student, or candidate complete two or three years of advanced course work followed by an independent research study that adds knowledge to the nursing discipline (Hall & Kazmi, 2017). The DNP differs from the PhD as the curriculum builds on traditional master's programs by providing education in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and systems leadership, among other key areas (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2016). The DNP offers an alternative to the research-focused doctoral programs and seeks to prepare nurses to implement the science developed by nurses prepared with a PhD and DNS degree. If I were to pursue a terminal level degree in nursing, I would most likely chose a DNP program. While I do enjoy research and appreciate the science developed and practiced in our profession, I believe that I am best suited to implement nursing and professional philosophy and practices, either as a leader or as a practitioner. I love being a part of the hospital environment and caring for patients. The satisfaction that I get from helping people directly, both patients and fellow nurses and others is immeasurable and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be of service.
