WRITE A COVER LETTER ANSWERING THESE FOUR QUESTIONS. THE FINAL ESSAY PAPER ATTACHED WILL HELP
The letter should be at least 2 pages long, double-spaced. Address it directly to me. Answer all four questions (they donât have to be in this order).
1. What knowledge and beliefs did you have about research writing, gender stereotypes, and your specific topic BEFORE you began writing this paper? What are the key ideas you learned in the process of researching? How has writing this paper changed your relationship to ideas about gender? To the topic? To your research process?
2. What did you learn about your own writing from reading your peersâ papers in workshops? Are there particular student writer(s) whose example helped in your learning process? What did you learn about your writing from comments you received from peers and from your instructor? (Note: donât focus on grammar and punctuation here. Think more about content, structure, and style issues.) Identify specific places in your paper where you utilized comments from reviewers to improve your writing.
3. What has been your biggest challenge with completing your research project? Be specific: consider issues like choosing the subject, narrowing the topic, finding credible sources, structuring the draft, understanding MLA citation format, refining your style, time management, etc. What helped you overcome that challenge? Point to places in the final draft where you demonstrate how youâve overcome those challenges.
4. What do you feel good about in terms of the project? What advice would you offer future students of this course?
