Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental disorder by psychological rather than medical means.
Â
Psychotherapy deal with patients with depression, stress disorder, or anxiety. Most of the time, people are not aware that they may be dealing with psychological issues. Since the symptoms are too common such as: stress, sadness, little bit anxious or worry about something. We often think that they are just normal/regular issues but we don't realized that these symptoms if not treated right away will soon escalate into something more serious. There are three types of psychotherapy: insight, behavioral, and biomedical. Insight works on helping people understand their disorder; behavioral works to change negative behaviors which are not helping the disorder; and last biomedical is a form of therapy which conduct by psychiatrist or medical doctor who specializes in psychological issues through medication. Â
Â
Counseling is more like the very beginning of mental disorder stage where the individual needs someone to talk to, to listen to the thoughts and feelings. Counselor will be there to talk the person through, Â give some form of suggestions/guidance. Also, help them feel supportive and open up to their problems. Â
