All essays must use Modern Language Association formatting

details, follow the link. Here are some of the highlights:
• Double-space. • Center the title above the text, and capitalize all words except prepositions (such as of, between, through), articles
(such as a, the, and an), and conjunctions (such as but, and,
or; however, capitalize them if they begin the title or the
subtitle).
• Title: Do not underline or italicize your title or put it in a bold font. Capitalize titles according to the MLA format for
titles.
• To start a new paragraph, indent 5 spaces (or one tap of the “Tab” key).
Except for the title, which is centered, align your text with the
left margin. Do not justify the margins. Justified margins make
the text in to a straight light on both the right and left sides.

Structure
Although this essay contains the elements of your story—the
who where what when how of what happened—it is a story
told in service of a thesis, and so you will organize carefully to
foreground this thesis. • The thesis should be the last sentence of your first paragraph.
• Your opening (the first paragraph), should contain an image or scene or moment of your story that leads up to your
thesis. Trimble's Chapter 3, "Openers," will help you think
about your beginning.
• After the first paragraph, the following paragraphs will begin with topic sentences (Links to an external site.)Links to
an external site. (also called point sentences) which will
contain key words to remind us how each piece of the story
relates to the thesis. These might even be the exact same
words you used in your thesis sentence. Here's a bit more

• Each body paragraph ("Middles," as Trimble calls them), after the topic sentence, will contain the details of your story
that illustrate the point declared in the topic sentence. This
might be description, dialogue, a scene where some things
happen, observations you make, etc.
• Use the beginnings and endings of paragraphs to remind us of this larger purpose, your thesis. Again, use key
words, important images, and terms related to those in your
thesis. • The ending will reflect on the thesis and leave the reader with an idea about why this thesis and this story are
important. As Trimble says in his Chapter 5, "Closers," the
ending should "Focus on your main point," contain one
"memorable" "new twist or phrase," and have "emotional
impact" My vacation to oakland
Family is very important and valuable that should never be
taken for granted. I have so many relatives in different states
so I travelled many times to visit relative members. Even
though I usually travel to Oakland this one is the best and
unforgettable memory.
I went there because my cousin was getting married. My
cousin is a beautiful woman who has kind heart and loving
person. She always inspires me because she helps people in
different ways. For instance she travels most of Africa and
Asia countries to help people who have problem with hearing
as she is a nurse she travelled with doctors to help people in
different counties who has health issues. Her voluntary works
inspired me she also love help people around her.so everybody loves her when all our relatives heard about her
wedding they start planning to come to Oakland. The wedding
was a big ceremony. As Eritrean traditional wedding
ceremonies takes two days so the Eritrean people who lives in
the states also celebrates their wedding two days Saturday
and Sunday. On Saturday the wedding is modern ceremony
and on Sunday the ceremony is traditional wedding.I went
Oakland two weeks before the wedding in order to prepare
myself . when my cousin chose me as her one of braid maids I
was very happy and excited for the big day. When one week
left our relatives start to come all over the world. Everybody
was so happy and delighted to see each other.

• On Saturday Moring the wedding day I remember the day was sunny and bright. Everybody out fit is colorful
and stylish. First we went to the church after the church
ceremony we headed to the park for picture and to have
breakfast. Everyone is laughing and enjoying the moment
beside having breakfast. Around 6:00pm we headed to the
hotel when I first entered to the hall I was shocked it was full
of people I didn’t expect. The guests were dancing and
welcoming the bride and the groom. After dinner some
people gave speech about my lovely cousin I was surprised how she was nice to everybody and help all those people.
Because of she is kind on her wedding day people travel from
London, Canada, Africa, Europe, and from different states
America. Around 700 people were on the the wedding. On
Sunday again we celebrate traditional wedding. Those two
days were amazing. In the ceremony I met my cousins and old
friends which they left backhome when I was baby.one of my
cousin who left back home when I was around 7 years old met
me on the wedding she was surprised first she didn’t
recognize me so she said “excuse me can I sit here for a
while to talk to the bride” at this time my cousin laughs and
told her that I am their cousin winta she was laughing and
surprised how I grow up fast. After the wedding on Monday we
did family reunion to have time for each other we talked
where we are living how we are doing and bout life . when I
heard about their experience in the sates how they went to
college I was surprised because some of them working two
jobs when they went to colleges others had babies so it was
best experience to share their hassle of life. Before I came to
this wedding ceremony I really didn’t care about relatives but
now I am the most caring person. This ceremony brought me
a lot of enjoyment, love caring about families. I just want to
share this with other people is because family is the most important thing in the world its better to enjoy your family
members or relatives when you have time because sharing
your time with your relatives gives you happiness.
• From this wedding I experienced what family love is and knowing that I have beautiful culture which I didn’t
notice before
