There are six questions. These question are about The Great Gatsby. Answer for each question should be at least 150 words.
Â
1.comment on anything within the "The Great Gatsby Chapter 6" that caught your attention, you agree with, you disagree with, that surprised you, etc. Ask questions, answer questions with your theories, and so on. Find something to comment upon or to ask..
Â
2. As you consider this question, please DO NOT bring up anything out of the later chapters if you have read this book or seen a film version of Gatsby, okay? I don't think too many of you are just DYING to find out what is going to happen with the plot of the book, but a the same time I don't want anyone to just give away things that have yet to happen on the printed page, either. With that in mind, as chapter 6 closes, what do you as a reader want to have happen to Gatsby? What do you, as the audience of the book, personally wish to see as Gatsby's involvement with Daisy progresses and deepens, and as you see more of their past? Naturally, you cannot just give me a line or two for this and that is all...explain what you wish to see, and WHY you think/feel that way. Again, if you know how the story does reach a conclusion, please DO NOT write something to give away happenings from later chapters!
Â
These questions are meant to be comprehensive, so discuss anything that has been in Chapters 1-6 as part of your response. Since these questions are NOT public discussion boards, if you have read the book before (or have been coasting from having seen the film and know what happens in the end), you can mention things that happen in the remaining chapters, but you certainly do not have to do so. Your answers don't need to be epic, but need to have some real content and thought to them as well. If in doubt, though, say more rather than less!
Â
1. From Chapter 6 and previous material as well, what are as many of the rumors and gossip about Gatsby as you can find? That is, what do people at his parties think of who and what he is? Tom has a few words to say about this, too, and will have more in the remaining chapters!
Â
2, What character do you admire/like the most so far in this book? Why? If possible as part of your response, give a quote or two to illustrate your thoughts.Â
Â
3. What character do you dislike the most so far and why? Again, if possible, show some quotes from the pages that support/illustrate this.
Â
4. What is your opinion of the people who come to Gatsby's many parties, and why (excluding Nick and Jordan, please)? What do you think Fitzgerald is saying about these rich people who attend Gatsby's gatherings, and, by extrapolation, the real life rich people of his day?
