Stamp Act

 It is now 1776. You are the same person, but it's nearly a decade later and much has changed! (The Stamp Act has been repealed, if you are still complaining about the Stamp Act, your cousin will think you're daft.) Have your feelings changed since 1765? How, and why (not)?  While your response will be based on an assigned position Patriot give some thought to why you - 18th c. you - might be skeptical of or interested in independence. Are you thoughtful about what is at stake for "you"? Do you seem to be thinking about what "you" have to lose in all of this upheaval? By being a patriot ? Is war desirable and why? Or is there a point for you at which war would be desirable, an if, then? What if - as is more than likely - the British crush the Patriots' rebellion? What would this mean for you? At the same time, what might the Patriot's cause offer you?
