Your client is a 25-year-old gay male, who recently moved back in with his parents after a breakup with his partner of 2 years. He is bipolar and readily admits the breakup and rocky relationship with his parents has made his living situation very uncomfortable. He also believes he has aggravated his mental health condition. His parents are disapproving of his gay lifestyle, and it often causes arguments.

 

The client would like to move into his own apartment, but is concerned about his lack of income, as well as living and medical/counseling costs. He would like to work, but recognizes his condition is a stumbling block. He is also concerned potential landlords might become aware of his lifestyle and diagnosis and not look favorably upon him.
