The Case Assignment is a written description of a solution to a problem or situation. Most cases are a snapshot of a particular situation within a complex environment. The purpose of the Case Assignment in this course is to place you in a position that will require research, synthesis of information and critical thought. 

The Case Assignment is your Mid Term for the course. You will be asked to distinguish pertinent from peripheral facts, to identify central alternatives among several issues competing for attention, and to formulate strategies and recommendations. The method provides an opportunity to sharpen problem-solving skills and to improve your ability to think and reason rigorously. Note that your response will require research, synthesis of information and critical thought. 

In essence, you are expected to demonstrate your skill at critical thinking; The Case Assignment will represent 20% of your overall course grade. 

Case 

Apple and the Virgin Group are two of the most interesting organizations seen in many years due primarily to the unusual and somewhat controversial leadership of Steve Jobs and Sir Richard Charles Branson, respectively. 

Assignment Based on what you have learned so far in this course and on additional research you conduct specifically about either Apple or the 1 / 2 Virgin Group, your task as a Scholar is to write a double-spaced 8 to 10 page paper, following APA format, which describes the positive and negative features of the leadership style of Steve Jobs or Sir Richard Branson. Make sure that your paper demonstrates your skill at critical thinking supported by citations in the body of your paper. Be sure your list of references are in a separate page at the end of the document and is formatted in accordance with APA style.
