Question description
Â
Because good writing is always a process, our persuasive essay will be written in two parts: a first draft due this week and a final draft due in week 6. Your paper should be 3-4 pages in length.
As you prepare, here are a few reminders for this week's draft:
My thesis was the following
Topic Selection
The topic that I finally choose is; Interpreters in court do/do not influence verdicts and sentencing. Interpreters play a key role in the course of the hearing of cases, and thus they are likely to influence the sentence given and the verdict of the case. Since the interpreters are humans, they may deliberately or unknowingly distort the meaning from the parties or the magistrate/ Judge. I would like to conduct a research to find out if court interpreters influence the verdict of cases and sentences given.
Thesis development
My take in this topic is that indeed, court interpreters influence the case verdict and sentences given. This perspective will form the foundations for my thesis. My research will therefore be aimed to present sufficient facts to prove the thesis that court interpreters influence the verdict of cases.
Thesis
To improve the efficiency of the judicial system in the United States, the Judiciary should sufficiently train its court interpreters to be able to communicate the message from the source to the audience without distortion.
