What mass of oxygen will react with 2.64 g of Magnesium?
Â
Formula: 2Mg(s)+O2(g)⟶MgO(s)
Â
Â
I know I am missing a step here, but not sure what.Â
So far I have done the following:
2 g H | 1 mole | 2 moles H2O | 18 g
| 1.007 g | 2 moles of H | 1 H2O
Â
(2g∗1∗2∗18g)/(1.007∗2)=35.7g
Â
(1.94g∗100%)/35.7= I got 5.4%
Â
But the answer is 86%.
Â
Please show me what I did wrong and how to work this. Thanks
