Need help on budgeting assignment on Excel?

Need help on budgeting assignment on Excel?

Thing to do are do a budgeting on Excel on Fictonal Restaurant budget and answer a question on Excel on tap analysis.

Intro: Could you imagine working in an establishment that didn't even use budgets? Not having to do sales or cost projections? You would think that might be a dreamy setting. The problem here is there wouldn't be a figure for profit margin or percentages. How would you plan or keep spending in check? A set up like this is not at all optimal for success in the long run.

The other side of the coin is a business where the controls are too tight. Being so specific that you would be required to project all revenues for every single day of the upcoming year. It could help you learn, though, and be able to give firm explanations for shortfalls or overages, but is quite alot of work and hard to predict such tight confines as one day out of 365.

The best scenario is somewhere in between the two. Using history and future projections in an educated guessing game are key to making the budget work for you. You should keep this in mind when working on the Budget Worksheet assignment in this folder.

Budget writing assignment : This assignment may seem a bit advanced, but as the directions point out, quite a bit of this is based on assumptions and there are no real wrong answers. Read the instructions carefully and follow ALL tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet. You are to only do the figures for February. You must simply fill in the dollar and percentage column with numbers you feel work within the information given including January's figures, and give answers to the analysis questions.

You should see the following tabs: "Instructions", "Sample Budget", "Fictonal Restaurant Budget" and, finally "Analysis".
