Well where do you begin when you are just starting out with as a new programmer in
terms of languages to use, well there is two really great beginner languages to use or to read and
learn about as you venture into the programming world. One of those great languages is Visual
Basic, while the other is Python. Both of these languages have their unique differences between
the other and will be discussed about in this paper. But before beginning each one and
determining which one is overall superior to the other keep in mind at the end of the day it is
really where you are comfortable with using.
Python was created in the 1990’s by Guido van Rossum and was named after the British
comedy Monty Python’s Flying Circus, python was created out of a hobby and has become a
popular language widely used in industry and academia due to its simple, concise, and intuitive
syntax with an extensive library [Lia13]. 2
