The purpose of this assignment is to enhance learners’ ability:
1. to evaluate the HRM challenges and issues pertaining to managing global human resources. 2. to summarize journal articles or conference papers on issues related to Human Resource
Management. REQUIREMENT
You are required to answer the following TWO (2) assignment questions. These assignments should
be completed individually. Assignment 1 (40%):
As a consultant for a manufacturing company in Vietnam, your client has indicated to you that the
company is interested to send some of its employees for international assignment to China. You are
required to prepare a proposal to provide a pre-departure training for the company’s employees. The
company does not have internal resources to conduct in-house-training. The proposal should include
the following:
a) Description on some global challenges that the employees may face during their assignment
in China.
(10 marks)
b) The training programme components that the company’s employees have to undergo. You are
required to justify your proposal.
(15 marks)
c) Your recommendation on how you are going to measure the effectiveness of the proposed
pre-departure training program.

Write a short report of not more than 2000 words of on any Human resource management issue
(some example of issue is shown below). The report should be based on at least 5 articles from any
refereed journals or conference papers. The articles must be current (no less than 4 years) and
relevant to the issue to be studied. In the report, you should only highlight the issues at hand.
References should be based on APA referencing format.
