Discussion 5.1 - Intercultural Communication

We have been discussing the aspects of intercultural communication and how communication across cultures becomes confused. Now it is your turn. Your initial post answers these questions:

 

  • Describe a time when cultural bias has inhibited you from communicating.
  • What were the cultural factors involved?
  • How were you able to overcome these factors?
  • What would you do differently if you were in a similar situation?

Remember that intercultural is not the same as international. In the United States, we have many cultures; some are due to multi-nationalism, others are due to geography, and still others are based on gender, race, and religion.

 

You must support your response with at least two scholarly sources. Do not forget to use APA style in-text citations and references.
