In conclusion, the Computer Engineering lab introduced us to the to basics of computer engineering concepts and models by illustrating how computer engineers combine both software and hardware methods. The two application demos were very useful as we were introduced to new concepts of Computer Engineering that many people can relate to. The two main parts of the computer engineering lab was the demonstration of remote monitoring and control of home appliances and the configuration of an integrated wireless router to show how can we control the either a bell or a light or any basic switch by using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router to access your home network anywhere through a mobile app or browser and setting up a wireless network where we saw how to use an Integrated Wireless Router and Client and how are wireless routers typically employed in homes and small business networks but wireless access points (WAPs) are more common and more complex, larger networks.
